Ethel Estelline “Sassy” Queen

Ethel Estelline “Sassy” Queen of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Grant Medical Center in Columbus at the age of 92. She was born July 31, 1926 in Coalton, Ohio to the late William Birch Boyd and Margaret Moore.

She volunteered for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the soup kitchen at the Christian Church. She was a member of Jackson County Homemakers, Keystone Women’s Club, and attended Central Avenue Methodist Church.

She loved traveling, family gatherings, and talking to her best friend, Frances Burt on the phone.

She is survived by her children: Ronald (Stacey) Queen, Margaret Queen, Steve (Bev) Queen, Larry (Debbie) Queen, Cindy (Mike) Zwayer, Sandra (Gary) Landrum, Jennifer (Gary) Moore, and Rick (Cathy) Boyd; sister, Ruth Colegrove; and many precious and loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Queen; several brothers and sisters, and a great-grandson.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
