Edward Dwight Ruth, age 88, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away with his family by his side at Holzer of Gallipolis on Friday, Aug. 30, 2019. He was born Sept. 11, 1930 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Cecil and Dora Ruth.
He was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, Class of 1948. He completed his master’s degree in Physics at Miami University of Oxford, Ohio. He retired from Wellston City Schools with 20-plus years of service in teaching and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed square and ballroom dancing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his two children, Steven (Pam) Ruth and Susan (Rick) Summers; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous other extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ruth; sister, Jane Ann Davis; and loving wife, Ruby Ruth.
