Edna Yoder Byler

Edna Yoder Byler, 90 years old, of Jackson, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015.

She was born on December 28, 1924 in Nappanee, Indiana to Daniel and Mary Ann (Miller) Yoder. On October 26, 1950, she married the love of her life, the late Dan J. Byler.

Edna and her late husband were the founders and owners of PAD-A-PEW®, a division of By-Line Mfg. & Uphol., Inc.; and the former Lazy Dog Camp-Resort, and Noah’s Ark Animal Farm.

Survivors include 11 children: Melvin (Lynn) Byler, Daniel Byler, Ellen (James) King, Katherine (Donald) Hodge, Norman (Sally) Byler, Allen (Beverly) Byler, Ervon Byler, David Byler, Levi (Joyce) Byler, and Barbara (Mark) Harper, all of Jackson, and Betty (Roderick) Pontius of Sarasota, Florida. Also surviving are 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one sister and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Johnny Byler, three brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson for viewing on Sunday, June 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 15 at the First Church of the Nazarene, 251 Powell Drive, Jackson, Ohio on Monday, June 15 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Wayne Searls and Pastor Mike Percell from Wheelersburg (a long-time friend of the family) officiating. Private burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Jackson, Ohio.
