On Sunday May 2, 2021 Doris B. Simpson, age 92, of Jackson, Ohio went to sleep in Jesus. Doris was born August 12, 1928 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Lee and Verna Radcliff.
She is survived by sons, Edwin (Sonja) Simpson and Jerry Simpson; daughters, Barbara (Tim) Hukill and Trudy (Mike) Stephenson; eight grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bessie Folden; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years, Edwin Simpson; one grandson, Christopher Hinkley; sisters, Daisy and Violet; brothers: Donald, Ivan, Norman, Paul, Ronald, Dean and Robert.
Doris was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing, and reading. She was a member of the Jackson Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Graveside services will immediately follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
