Donald Ray “Don” Sizemore

Donald Ray “Don” Sizemore, age 69, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 23, 2018, at the home of his son in Wellston. He was born Feb. 4, 1949 in Radcliff, Ohio, son of the late William Sizemore and Alma Pendleton Vititoe.

Don, a former employee of Southern Ohio Coal Company and member of UMWA, retired from coal mining in 2011 with 20 years of service in the coal mining industry. Don’s love of work was known to all who knew him. A hard-working man, Don took pride in all that he did and was always willing to help anyone in any way that he could.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharing his love for animals, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. His family was truly blessed to have him in their lives and he was always there when they needed him.

Don is survived by his son, Brian Sizemore of Wellston; grandchildren, Brice Sizemore of Wellston and Megan Sizemore (Jordon Ross) of Reynoldsburg; sisters, Phyllis King of Wellston and Louise Church of Jackson; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his siblings, Christina Hagerty, Donavan Queen, Harold Queen, Jerry Sizemore and Gerald Sizemore.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating.
