Donald E. Littlejohn

Donald E. Littlejohn, age 89, of Wellston, passed away Monday, Sept. 16, 2019 in Lynchburg, VA, where he had been residing with his daughter for the last two and a half years. He was born Dec. 10, 1929 in Wellston, Ohio, son of the late George Littlejohn and Bessie Green Littlejohn.

Don was a 1949 graduate of Wellston High School and a veteran of the United States Army.  Following 25 years of employment, Don retired from the office of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wellston and the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston. Don enjoyed sitting outside and watching the hummingbirds, and he enjoyed airplanes of any type. He was a diehard Cleveland Browns fan as well as an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

Don is survived by his daughter, Donnas Littlejohn Farley of Lynchburg, VA; granddaughters, Michelle Farley Heath, and her husband Joe, of South Boston, Va. and Rawlyn Farley of Brooklyn, NY; great-grandson, Beckett Heath; and Don’s buddy, B.C. the Cat. 

Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen Johnston Littlejohn in 2005; sister, Mabel Littlejohn; and brother, Carmel Littlejohn. 

Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Kelly officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
