Donald E. Keels, Sr.

Donald E. Keels, Sr., age 60, passed away at home by his wife’s side after a brief battle with cancer on June 7, 2013. He was born September 2, 1952 in Oak Hill Hospital to Denver L. Keels, Sr. and Manda L. (Hutchinson) Keels. Don was known as the hardest working man in southern Ohio and having the biggest heart for the ones around him. He worked for 30 years at Goodyear/Cambridge/Meridian in Jackson and when the plant shut down, he worked at Walmart for 7 years. He was his family’s heart and soul.

He is preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Gloria S. (Keels) Trent.

He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Brenda Kay (McCoy) Keels; sons, Donald E. Keels, Jr. of Wellston and Chris Keels, living at home; 3 grand daughters, Cassidy Keels, Kaitlyn Keels and Sheridan Keels; sisters, Betty (Wally) Sunderland and Linda (Don) Trent; 2 brothers, Denver Lee Keels and Paul (Rosetta) Keels; many nieces and nephews; as well as life long friends, Ed Stevens and Ron Caulley.

At his request, he was cremated with no funeral. There will be a memorial service on June 15, 2013 at 3 p.m. at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, 3401 Jimes Emory Rd., Oak Hill, OH 45656.
