Donald “Don” Clark

Donald “Don” Clark, age 87, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born Dec. 1, 1929 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Charles and Bertha (Stapleton) Clark.

Don was employed by the B&O and DT&I Railroads before serving as Jackson County Auditor from 1982 to 1990. He was a Korean War Navy Veteran, a member of the DAV, VFW, Jackson Rotary, and the Masonic Lodge. He was also a member and former trustee of Franklin Valley Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Juanita (Farrar) Clark; daughter, Christine (Rodney) Lewis of Rio Grande, Ohio; sons, Steve (Stephanie) Clark of Beavercreek, Ohio, Bruce (Frances) Clark of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Greg (Wendy) Clark of Fort Mill, South Carolina; granddaughters: Jessica Siders (Ben) Kahler, Stephanie Lewis, Cassi Clark, Kaitlin Clark, and Sarah Clark; great-granddaughter, Adara Kahler; and great-grandson, Rhys Kahler; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a twin brother, Ronald; two sisters: Mildred Clark Tipton and Verda Clark Bartlett; brothers: Clifford, Marion, Owen, Herman, Merle, and Carl; and Charles Stapleton, a cousin raised with the family.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home, Jackson, with Masonic services to begin at 3 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. with Minister Tim Jones officiating.
