David Kisor

David P. Kisor, age 79, of Wellston, passed away early Tuesday morning, October 26, 2021, at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born August 26, 1942, in Wellston, Ohio to the late Howard W. and Katherine S. (Lenegar) Kisor. Dave graduated from Wellston High School in 1961. He worked in his father’s coal mine until he entered the United States Army in 1964 and served during the Vietnam era. For his service to his country, Dave was awarded a Purple Heart. Dave also worked for E.E. Chambers Co. and Wellston Aerosol Manufacturing. In 1972, Dave joined the State Highway Patrol as a MRW. He was a loyal employee at District 9 for the next 40 years, retiring in 2012. Dave enjoyed hunting, going to flea markets, farming and his little companion dog, Missy. He took Missy everywhere he went. Missy ate from Dave’s plate and drank from his cup. Dave loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his great-grandchildren. He was a friend to everyone and was always willing to help someone in need. Dave will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his three sons: David A. (Heidi) Kisor, Douglas P. (MaDonna) Kisor and Devin G. (Brandi) Kisor; seven grandchildren: David Andrew (Carrie) Kisor, Angeleah (Noah) Hill, Alex-Shae (Kimmy) Kisor, Kelby (Allison) Kisor, Tyler Kisor, Madison Kisor and Gavin Kisor; six great-grandchildren: Andrew and Katelynn Kisor, Leah and Logan Kisor and Kelson and Reeselyn Kisor. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Geraldeen Key; and his siblings: Howard “Glen” (Jenny) Kisor, Bert Kisor, William “Bill” (Sandy) Kisor and Kathy Kisor.

Calling hours will be Friday, October 29, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.
