David Crowe

David A. “Poke” Crowe passed away peacefully from this life Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born July 21, 1954 to the late Edgar and Marie Crowe. On October 24, 1974 he married the former Bobbi Segraves who survives.

Dave was retired from Chilpaco. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, horse racing, Nascar, OSU football, and watching his grandson and daughters kart racing. He was also a member of the VFW Post #108. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He touched many lives and was a mentor to many young people. Upon passing, he gave a gift of life and healing through tissue donation.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Christina M. Crowe of Londonderry, Ohio, Amanda Collins and companion, Damean Wiseman; special grandson, Ryan Collins of Ray, Ohio; brother, Robert Crowe; sister, Linda Hester; special niece and her husband, Maria and Shorty Richards; and his best friend whom he considered a son, Travis Rinehart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Rylee A. Carlson; brothers, Edgar, Richard, and Larry Crowe.

The family extends a special thank-you to Dr. Frank Cosentino, the Adena Dialysis Center, and Westmoreland Place for their care; and thanks for the many prayers during this difficult time.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. The family is honoring Dave’s wishes to be cremated. The family invites friends of Dave’s to join them in a celebration of his life Saturday, October 25, 2014 between the hours of 1 and 3 p.m. This celebration will be held at the Richmond Dale United Methodist Church, 238 Market Street, Richmond Dale, OH 45673. The family asks that you please bring a story to share.
