Danny Everett McNeal

By | August 31, 2020

Danny Everett McNeal, age 67, of Oak Hill, passed away after a long battle with brain cancer on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his wife and family.  He was born Aug. 31, 1952 to the late Charles E. and Gladys (Shelton) McNeal.

He is survived by his wife of almost 44 years, Pam (Adkins) McNeal; sons, little Danny McNeal, Clint (Katherine) McNeal, Cliff (Shannon) McNeal, Cody McNeal, all of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Levi, Caleb, Caitlyn, Olivia, Beau, Devin, Peyton, Oliver, Cash and Clint “Chip”; sister, Mary Katherine McNeal; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine “Geri” Stumbo.

He graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1970; he then worked for Waterloo Coal Company, retiring after 20 years.  After that he pursued the American dream of being your own boss, farming.  Farming was his passion and the number of friends he made through that is too extensive to mention.  He was a past trustee of Madison Township in Oak Hill for 20 years.  He loved farm and cattle sales and often that’s where you would find him.  He was part of the liars club of McDonald’s in Oak Hill.

The family appreciates all of the support and can’t thank everyone enough for their thoughts, prayers and help.  There are too many stories to mention.

Public graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2020 at Centerpoint Cemetery, on Centerpoint Road in Oak Hill with Pastors Stan Howard and Ed Johnson officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local township trustees to help care for the local cemeteries in our area.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone is asked to wear a mask while indoors and practice proper social distancing procedures and guidelines. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
