Dale Peart

Dale Eldon Peart passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Holzer in Gallipolis. He was born on February 6, 1950, on Irish Ridge in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Ralph Peart and Dorothy (Snyder) Varney. 

Dale had many talents and trades. He earned a bachelor’s in business from Rio Grande University, where he held office as Student Senate President. He later went on to teach business classes at Southeastern Business College in Jackson, Ohio. Dale worked at Goodwill Industries in Chillicothe, Ohio, where he did vocational evaluations for disabled people to help them find employment. Dale has been a farmer, logger, and teacher. He had a love for animals, mostly for farm animals and horses. He worked for years as a bartender, in which he said that made him qualified to be a part time psychologist (“haha”). He also ran his own business from his home called Freedom Research. 

He is survived by his wife and best friend, Sara Jane Peart; two stepdaughters: Angela Roof, of Jackson, Ohio and Jennifer Castle (Lane Sams), of Guysville, Ohio. Dale will also be remembered by extended family and friends throughout the area, and several other states. He is preceded in death by his parents. 

Visitation will be held Friday, April 15, 2022, from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Janie Karl officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
