Dale Allen McGill

Dale Allen McGill, age 82, of Wellston, passed away Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017 at his home. He was born March 30, 1935 in Washington County, Ohio to Leonard Dale McGill and Winnie Taylor McGill.

Dale was a 1953 graduate of Rome-Canaan High School in Stewart, Ohio and was also a veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean War. He retired from CSX Railroad where he was employed as a dispatcher for 34 years. Dale was also an artist who enjoyed painting, woodworking, feeding hummingbirds and spending time with his family. He was a member of the AmVets in Jackson.

Dale is survived by his children, Terry Allen McGill of Powell, Teresa Hines (Chuck Lamb) of Columbus and Tamala McGill Wright (Mario) of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Ian McGill, Megan McElwee-Papamihail, Tom Hines (Susan), Tanya Brown (Nesby) and Tasha Brown (Andre); great-grandchildren, Alex, Mac, Cedric, Leana, Sophia, Keegan, Olivia and Camden; sister, Geraldine Singer, along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his first wife, Clarice; second wife, Sally; sisters, Alice White, Louise Newell and Doris Willett; and brothers, Leroy, McGill, Wesley McGill and Max McGill.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home.
