Cynthia Marea Davis, age 85, of Thurman, Ohio, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, WV. She was born to Joseph Hall and Ella Hamilton Hall on Aug. 27, 1934 in Floyd County, Kentucky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Junior Hunt and Rudy Davis, siblings, Nora Bales, Ottis Hall, Clyde Hall, Onedis Hall and Paralee Boyd; sons, Joe Manford Hunt and Darvin Lee Hunt; and daughters, Carla Jean Hunt and Judy Carol Canter.

She is survived by her brother, Walker Hampton; sisters, Madelene Gay and Irene Hall; son, Carson Junior Hunt (Christine); daughters, Cynthia June Walker (Joey), Clarissa Nora Hunt (Missy Ireland); grandsons, Brian Hunt, Amos Canter, Alex Hunt (Bethany), Evan Hunt (Kaila), Bradlee Earl, Curtis Hunt and Cory Montgomery; granddaughters, Emily Walker, (Little Joe), Misty Lowe and Natalie Denney; and many great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed her time as a cook at Holzer Medical Center for many years and retired from Gallipolis Development Center.

Marea enjoyed gardening, canning, and preserving fruits and vegetables from her many gardens. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and putting on feasts for her family, but baking birthday cakes for her children brought her the greatest joy. In her later years she enjoyed putting all her many, many, accumulated photos of family and trips in photo albums and collecting dolls. Her greatest joys and pleasures, however, were in her family.

She was of the Jehovah Witness faith. In lieu of flowers she would have preferred you to give to a worthy cause such as your local food bank, community garden, and/or local homeless shelter.

Private services will be held under the direction of the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.  After the private services, she will be laid to rest in C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
