Charlotte Mae Staten

Charlotte Mae Staten, age 77, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio.  She was born Aug. 29, 1942 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Paul Eugene Coppock and Lola Mae Oiler Coppock. 

Following 25 years of employment, Charlotte retired from the Wellston City Schools, where she worked as an aide. Charlotte was musically talented and she loved to sing and play the piano and the guitar. She also enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, golfing and going on cruises. Most importantly, Charlotte enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Franklin Valley Golf Course, and the First Baptist Church in Wellston, where she was baptized on Feb. 23, 1975 and received membership on March 2, 1975. 

Charlotte is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Terry Allan Staten; seven children, Kimberly Staten (Paul Dunn) of Jackson, Dusty Lynn Lightle (William) of Leesburg, Rusty Staten (Theresa Marie) of Greenfield, Randy Staten (Linda) of Greenfield, Pepper Cremeans (Tim) of Wellston, Robbie Staten of Wellston and Richie Staten of Chillicothe; sisters, Sharon Fisher (Larry) of Frankfort and Janet Brown (James) of Jackson; along with 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Besides her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Elizabeth Staten; and brother, Paul Eugene Coppock, Jr. 

Calling hours will be Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston.  Funeral service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Dawn Brown officiating.
