Charles Thomas “Chuck” Miller

Charles Thomas “Chuck” Miller, 92, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Holzer Assisted Living, Jackson. He was born March 10, 1919 in Pike County, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Jordan Miller; son, Bob Miller; parents, Andrew Jack and Elizabeth Miller; sisters, Virginia, Zona, Hazel; and brothers, Albert, Bill, and Jack.

Charles served in the U.S. Navy in WW II on the USS Edison and the USS Gyatt, worked for Columbus Southern Power from 1945-1978; was an avid gardener and Canadian fisherman.

He is survived by sons, Charles “Walt” (Sharon Knapp) Miller of Quincy, Florida, and Jeff (Kris Elliott) Miller of Jackson, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Joyce Simpson Miller of Fredricktown, Ohio; grandchildren: Todd (Bea) Miller, Chrissy (Scot) Howard, Beth Miller, Wes Miller, Alex Miller, and January Clayton; great-grandchildren: Calvin Howard, Kayla and Claudia Clayton, Brittney Reeds, Amanda Shope and Tyler Shope; and sister, Mary Margaret. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Saturday, March 3, at 5 p.m. with Pastor Greg Scott officiating. Friends may call three hours prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
