Charles Exline

Charles Exline, 81, of Wellston, was called to his Heavenly reward Saturday, July 13, 2013. The son of the late Oscar S. and Harriet McCormick Exline, he was born December 15, 1931, in Jackson County. Charles was a member of the Freedom Chapel Church in Wellston. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War. Most will remember him for the 51 years that he served the needs of the Wellston community – first at Penn’s Furniture and lastly at the Penn’s Warehouse.

Charles is survived by his children, Michael (Joyce), Rickey (Jackie) and Lori (Ted) Runyon all of Wellston; grandchildren, Charles, Rosemary, Brandon and Matthew Exline, Christy Denney and Heather Swain; great-grandchildren, Michael, Justin and Chloie Exline, Klaudia and Zackery Faught, Kaylee and Kynlee Denney, and Lexie and Braydon Swain. Other survivors include a brother, Larry (Marylyn) of Jackson; a sister, Sarah Gilliland of Jackson; sisters-in-law, Ernestine Exline, and Marlene and Katy Kisor; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Marylyn in 2007; and his brothers, Ernest and Ripley.

Family and friends are to gather Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Huntley & Cremeens Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Pastors Perry Bradford and Richard Moore, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. Casketbearers will be Matthew, Brandon and Chuck Exline, Mike Swain, Freddie Denney and Lee Faught. Burial, with military honors presented by Wellston Post 371 of the American Legion, will be in the Salem Cemetery. Arrangements for Charles Exline have been entrusted to the Huntley & Cremeens Funeral Home in Wellston.
