Carlton E. (Gene) Reed, age 86, of Blacklick, died Friday, September 16, 2016, at his residence. He was born on September 9, 1930, in Wellston, Ohio, to the late Evelyn Reed and Ralph Skinner.
Carlton served his country during the Korean Conflict with the United States Navy on board the U.S.S. Kearsarge. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting. His hobbies included his love of animals and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife Marta Ann and son Christopher Alan Reed.
Carlton is survived by his children, Carey Reed, Carlton (Laurie) Reed II, Victoria (Ed) Bland, Michael Reed; grandchildren, Joshua (Erica), Benjamin, Angela, Jessica (Ashley), Zachary, Karri, Sarah; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Gloria Peterson, Betty Skinner, Martha Skinner; brothers O. Kent Reed and Ray (Donna) Skinner.
