Carl Edwin White, Jr., age 81, of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Holzer Medical Center on Monday, November 1st, 2021. He was born October 26th, 1940, in Jackson, Ohio to the late Carl E. White Sr. and Dora Cash.

He is survived by his sons: Carl (Becky) White and Penn White of Jackson, Ohio; daughter, Kelli (White) Stiltner of Hamptonville, North Carolina; five grandchildren: Bethany (Tristan) White, Sara (Allen) Pope, Trevor White and Evan White, all of Jackson, Ohio, and Ryan (Cherokee) Stiltner of Hamptonville, North Carolina; six great-grandchildren: Riley Harder, Caleb Southern, Jaden and Elliot Pope, Brayden Stiltner and Terry Renegar; sisters: Hope (John) Stevison and Cindy Rowland; brother, Jim (Becky) White; and sisters-in-law: Patricia (Larry) Campbell, Pam Steele, Kay Gilliland and Sandra Steele. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Norma Mae (Steele) White; sisters: Lee Willis, Marie James, Jenny Lambert and Becky Lambert; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Glenna Steele; and brothers-in-law: Bub Steele, Bob Steele and Jim Steele.

Carl was a retired union coal miner, welder and equipment operator. He enjoyed hunting, working draft horses and beekeeping as well as woodworking. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donation be made to the Jackson County Dog Pound, c/o: Jackson County Auditor, 275 Portsmouth St., Jackson, OH 45640. Calling hours will be held on Friday, November 5th, 2021, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bill Zink officiating.
