Carl “Steve” Martin, age 60, of Wellston, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, April 25, 2015, at his home. He was born May 6, 1954 in Wellston, Ohio, the son of the late Homer A. Martin and Mary Elizabeth Rasp Martin Darnell. Steve was retired from General Mills, where he was employed for over 20 years, and he was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Steve is survived by his 2 sons, Steve Richard Martin of Oak Hill and Carl “Joe” Martin of Jackson; 4 grandchildren, Nikki, Mason, Brooklyn and Jordan; brothers, Homer Martin of Wellston, Jim Martin of Coalton, Ezra Darnell of Wellston, Raymond Darnell of Wellston and Bob Darnell of Wellston; sister, Nancy Martin Harris of Jackson, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Darnell. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Graveside service will be Wednesday ay 12 p.m. at the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson with Rev. Herman Stewart officiating.
