Brinton E. Hughes

Brinton E. Hughes was born May 6th, 1935 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late James and Grace (Rawlins) Hughes. Brinton went to be with the Lord on September 29th, 2016. He was living with his son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Bonita Hughes.

Brinton is survived by his children: Brenda (Ron) Malone of Marion, Ohio, Melissa (Ralph) Miller and Randy (Bo) Hughes of Oak Hill, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; brothers: Jasper (Shirley) Hughes, Larry Hughes, and Ronnie (Janice) Hughes, all of Oak Hill, Ohio; sister, Joan (Sherm) Baisden of Jackson, Ohio; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Norma (Radabaugh) Hughes; children, Brinton and Jimmy Hughes, and Gina Adkins; grandchildren, Ronnie Malone and Emily Canter; brothers, Bill, Jimmy, Paul, and Terry Hughes; sisters, Virginia Stroth and Shirley Phillips.

Brinton served 20 years in the United States Navy and retired as Chief Petty Officer. He also retired after 22 years of working at Southern Ohio Correctional Facility in Lucasville as Department Head of Food Service. He enjoyed camping and attending church with his wife.

Family and friends may attend his memorial service on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Church of Christ and Christian Union with Brinton’s son, Rev. Randy Hughes officiating.
