Betty Louise Morgan Bouts

Betty Louise Morgan Bouts, age 86, of Oak Hill passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Findlay. She was born April 23, 1926 in Toledo, to the late Homer and Ortha Morgan. Betty spent much of her young life in Scioto County, but made her home in Oak Hill for over 60 years. She was most recently a resident at Sunrise Assisted Living of Findlay.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Bruce (Debbie) Bouts, and daughter, Ginger (Tyler) Rieser; grandchildren, Rachael and Kyle Moses, Alexa and Keith Bouts, and Alec Rieser.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, (Melvin) “Guy” Bouts, whom she married December 4, 1948; brother, Robert “Bob” Morgan, and sister, Helen Morgan Koelmel.

Betty was a graduate of Portsmouth East High School in the class of 1943. She was a 42-year employee at A.P. Green Refractories in Oak Hill after starting her early career at the Selby Shoe factory in Portsmouth. Betty was a proud 50-year member of Eastern Star, where she served as Grand Adah of Ohio in 1984. She was also an active member of the Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church, Red Hat Society, and Oak Hill Sr Citizens, serving as queen in 2005.

Calling hours will be Sunday, April 7 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill. Funeral services will be Monday, April 8 at 11 a.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home with Rev. Linda Plummer officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Betty may be sent to the Oak Hill United Presbyterian Church at PO Box 194 Oak Hill, OH 45656.
