Bernice M. Hildenbrand

Bernice M. Hildenbrand, age 96, formerly of Jackson and most recently a resident of Huston Nursing Home in Hamden, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. She was born in Jackson on April 3, 1920 to the late Clyde and Ruby (Jones) Sticklen.

She is survived by her sons, Donald F. (Sue) Hildenbrand of Dayton, Ohio and William K. (Brenda) Hildenbrand of Berlin Heights, Ohio. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death a son, Jack W. Hildenbrand, an infant daughter, Donna, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

Bernice attended the McArthur Nazarene Church where she played the piano. She also liked to play the piano at Huston’s Nursing Home. She enjoyed reading and loved all of her grandchildren.

A celebration of Bernice’s life will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 13 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Pastor William H. Roth of the McArthur Nazarene Church will be the celebrant. In keeping with her wishes, cremation will follow the life celebration.
