Beatrice L. “Bea” Reed

Beatrice L. “Bea” Reed, age 85, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2015, at her home. She was born March 30, 1929 in Minerton, Ohio to the late Daniel and Elsie Cardwell Sorrell.

Bea was a loving homemaker and was retired from the Kuppenheimer Manufacturing Company in Wellston, where she was employed for 37 years. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in Wilkesville and she enjoyed gardening, working puzzle books and reading her Bible.

Bea is survived by her children, Margaret Knox (Kenneth) of McArthur, Wanda Burns (Bill) of Columbus, Tonja Kuhne (Joseph) of Rotkreuz, Switzerland, and Claude Reed of Wellston, as well as nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Ray Reed in 2005; daughter, Carolyn Sue Jarvis (Roger); sister, Linda Hysell, and brothers, Wilbur Sorrell and Phillip Sorrell.

Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
