Beatrice J. Kuhner, age 94, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Holzer Assisted Living of Jackson. She was born May 1, 1921 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Fred and Lydia (Howell) Hammonds.
She is survived by her son, Mark (Susan) Kuhner of Oak Hill, Ohio; grandson, Brian W. Kuhner of Oak Hill, Ohio; great-granddaughter, Allie Kuhner of Jackson, Ohio; and two sisters, Norma (Dwight) Grow of Jackson, Ohio and Shirley (Bill) Stone of New Albany, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bump” Kuhner; brothers: Gerald Hammonds, Francis Hammonds, Denver Hammonds, Fred Hammonds, and Richard Hammonds; sister, Collis Stewart; and an infant twin sister.
Beatrice graduated from Oak Hill High School. She was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church and a member of the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home under the direction of Rev. Herman Stewart. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
