Beatrice Gillum Huff, 78, of Thurman, Ohio, died peacefully Wednesday morning, Jan. 8, 2020, surrounded by her loving family in Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio. Beatrice was born Nov. 5, 1941 in Greenup County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Joseph and Alberta Sparks Gillum. She was of the Baptist faith and was a retired nurse’s aide from Oak Hill Hospital Long Term Care.
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by two sisters, Jeanette Gillum and Juanita Kirk. She is survived by a son, Jaimie Huff (Trudea) of Jackson, Ohio; two daughters, Tracey Hood (Tim) of Racine, Ohio and Joanna Cooper of Wellston, Ohio; a brother, Harold Gillum (Bonnie) of Greenup, Kentucky; four sisters, Loretta Howard, Ruth Miller, Faye Burton, and Amaryllis McKenzie (Ben), all of Ashland, Kentucky; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 11 at 12 p.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland, Kentucky. Burial will be in the Sparks Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until service time.
