Beatrice A. “Bea” Howard

Beatrice A. “Bea” Howard, 91, of Oak Hill, passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2015 in Holzer Hospital, Gallipolis. She was born October 9, 1924 in Blackfork, the daughter of the late George and Goldie McCorkle. Bea retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base as a payroll supervisor. She was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Jackson. Bea was an avid reader and enjoyed bingo. She was a lover of all creatures, great and small, was devoted to her family, and was a servant to Christ.

Bea is survived by her son, Tony (Joy) Howard; her granddaughter, Amy (Jerry) Markey; her great granddaughter Jessica Markey; her brothers, Cecil, George, Ralph, and Dale; her sisters, Patricia and Deborah; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe Howard; her daughter, Jo-Ellen Ryman; her brothers, Gene, Sonny, and Ronnie; her sisters, Max and Myrtle; and her longtime companion, Curt Adkins.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Services are entrusted to VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
