Barbara Shoemaker, 81of Oak Hill passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at her residence. She was born August 20, 1940, in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Oliver and Dorothy Allen Hilderbrant and was a homemaker.
She is survived by three children: Stewart Matthew (Brooke) Shoemaker, Tammy Faye Shoemaker, and Patty (Jeanie) Chapman; five grandchildren: David (Kristenia) Walk, Bobby Chapman, Jesse (Tiffany) Chapman, Logan Hines, and Landon Hines; four great-grandchildren: Alexandria Jade Walk, Conner Lee Walk, Maddison Paige Chapman, and Mackenzie Noel Chapman; one brother: Arnold Hilderbrant; one sister: Patty French; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Stewart Denver Shoemaker, Jr. on August 13, 2021; two sisters: Stella Smith, Abbie Hilderbrant; and three brothers: Warner Hilderbrant, Lester Hilderbrant, and Henry Hilderbrant.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Mack Walk officiating. Burial will be at White Gravel Cemetery in Minford.
