Barbara J. Kerr, 47, of Wellston, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, following an extended illness. She was born December 10, 1974, in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Francis Eugene and Connie Sue (Exline) Thorne. Barbara was an ordained minister and attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Wellston. One of her proudest accomplishments was performing a wedding ceremony last summer. It was her hope to do more, but she fell ill and was unable. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, but especially liked making and giving wreaths as gifts to her family and friends. On many occasions Barbara could be found browsing yard sales or flea markets. She was a great cook and loved being with her family and friends, particularly her grandchildren. Anything she set her mind to do, she did it to the best of her ability. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her family: husband, Jammie; son, Andrew (Christina) Kerr; daughter, Jammie (Anthony) Clark; her sister, Candi (David) Atchison; as well as 8 grandchildren; foster parents: Hobert and Katie Fairchild; and a host of foster siblings, cousins and friends.

A funeral service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of R.M. Williams Funeral Service, 120 W. Broadway St., Wellston, with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating.
