Barbara Chandler

Barbara Ann Burnsworth Chandler, age 78, of Jackson passed away Monday, July 5 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born in Pennsylvania on October 3, 1943, to the late Clemeth and Catherine Miller Burnsworth. Barbara was a member of the Grace Baptist Fellowship Church in Wellston, where she spent many years in the choir. Throughout her life, other than singing at church, she loved to read, work puzzles, knit afghans and grow roses. Most importantly, Barbara was very family-oriented, and nothing brought more joy than spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Christina Dawn (Rodney) Yates, Jeffery Gordon Chandler, Laurie Jean Chandler and Gregory Allen Chandler, grandchildren: Clayton, Jesse, Nathaniel, Crystal, Cassie, Heath, Candice, Clarissa, Courtney and Tiffany. She was also survived by 9 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Jerry Gordan Chandler; sons: Jerry Estil Chandler and Bobby Joe (Shawna) Dollar; brothers: Dale, Clayton, Jackie and Bobby; sisters: Betty Eversole, Delores Wenger, Claudine Kemp, Carol Hicks and Joyce Bocook.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 9 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Family will receive friends two hours prior to the service from 10 a.m. up to the time of the service at 2 p.m.
