Audra Christine “Chris” Jividen, age 70, of Radcliff, departed this earth to be with Jesus, after valiantly fighting and losing her two-year battle with cancer, on Monday, December 14, 2015, from the V.A. Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born January 11, 1945 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Luther Pittenger and Nellie Hatfield Pittenger.
Chris lived a long and eventful life, which included serving her country as a nurse in the U.S. Army, where she worked at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.; devoted wife to Ralph Dale Jividen and dedicated mother to her sons, Joseph, David and Scott Birchfield, daughter April Root, step-son William Jividen and his wife, Angie, as well as being a former auditor, caterer and a loving homemaker.
Her family was her pride, especially her grandchildren, Joseph, Kelsey, Sydney, Colton and Jayce Birchfield, Cayden Root, and William Jividen Jr. and Becky. She formerly attended World Outreach Ministries and she enjoyed crocheting, knitting and writing poetry, and she loved to cook and bake.
Chris is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ralph Dale “Chubby” Jividen; children, Joseph Birchfield III, and wife, Kristi, of Knoxville, TN, David Birchfield, and wife, Georgia, of Johnson City, TN, Scott Birchfield of Radcliff, and April Root, and husband, Tim, of Columbus; grandchildren Joseph IV, Kelsey, Sydney, Colton and Jayce Birchfield and Cayden Root; siblings, Ernie Pittenger, and wife Beverly, of Cincinnati, Francis Graham of Oak Forest, IL and Pat Adams of Wellston. In addition, she is survived by a special niece and nephew, Lynn and Randy Lowe, as well as several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Nellie Pittenger, and her brother Bob Pittenger.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Eberts officiating. Chris will be laid to rest in the Ridgewood Cemetery with military honors by the combined units of the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston and the D.A.V. Jackson County Chapter 45.
