Allen Dale Zornes, age 74, passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021 at Kings Daughters of Ashland. He was born Nov. 7, 1946 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Ira and Evelyn (Trace) Zornes.
He is survived by his sons, Tommy Zornes and Brad (Heather) Zornes; grandchildren: Steve Zornes, Drew Zornes (Rhyan McFann), Kathryn Zornes, Alyssa Zornes, and Jemma Zornes; brother, Larry (Judy) Zornes; and sister-in-law, Judy (Dave) Eggers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Williams) Zornes.
Allen was a veteran of the U. S. Army in which he served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. Through the years he served his community as an active member of the Hamilton Volunteer Firefighters. He also had worked as an EMT and at the Village of Oak Hill Fire Department.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Mallott officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Cemetery.
