Ruth Hager, age 83, of Dayton, Ohio and a former resident of Wellston, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born April 26, 1939, in Greeneville, Tennessee, daughter of the late George Mirl Gilland and Pearl Viola Roberts Fletcher.
Ruth was a former lead supervisor at QUME Electronics. She was a proud Christian who was formerly an adult Sunday School teacher, was in charge of the lady’s ministry program and was a church secretary and treasurer.
Ruth is survived by her daughters: Phyllis Weber of Dayton and Teresa Hoelscher of Xenia; sisters: Sherry McCurry, Penny Way and Bonnie Sutherland; brothers: Robert Fletcher and Bobby Gene Fletcher; along with five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Rachel Horner. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Hager in 1998; and three brothers and five sisters.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 4, at 1 p.m. at Dayton Memorial Park with Rev. Anita Newsome officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions in Ruth’s memory be given to Ellie’s Rainy Day Fund at elliesrainydayfund.org.
