Willard Burchett

Willard Burchett, 92, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday, February 10, 2020.  He was born June 13, 1927 in Louisa, Kentucky to the late John and Jessie (Hall) Burchett. 

Willard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Louise Burchett and his nine children: Phyllis Hamilton (Don), Doris West (David), Barb Martin, Glen Burchett, Joann Evans (Dennis), Charles Burchett (Carla), Patty Anderson (Larry), Dorothy Eggers (Steve), Freida Bickley (Greg), and a special bonus daughter: Patty Hightower, seventeen grandchildren, in which two they raised, Melissa Plummer and Jennifer Coleman, JR Rawlins, Michael Burchett, John Burchett, Tiffany Sizemore, David, Evans, TJ Evans, Tracy Garret, Halee Dixon, Hannah Rakes, Angela Coulter, Kenny Anderson, Adam Eggers, Kyle Eggers, Gregory Bickley, Cody Bickley, thirty eight great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great grandchildren.  In addition, he is survived by his siblings: Paul Burchett, Fred Burchett, Lawrence Burchett, and Ida Mae Hart. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Martha Bell Christian, Raymond Burchett, Jack Burchett, and George Burchett.

Willard was a farmer and worked at the Rubber Plant in Oak Hill after he moved from Kentucky with his family in 1957.  He also served 20 years as a Trustee in the Madison Township and worked as a member of the Trustees and Clerk Associates. He enjoyed working in the yard, growing his special tomato plants, in which he was very proud, and spending time with his kids and grandchildren who he dearly loved.

Friends may call Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 4-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.  Funeral services will be held Friday, February 14, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Jim Snyder officiating.  Burial will follow in C.M.
