Wendy Elaine Geer, age 50, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019. She was born July 1, 1969 in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Wendy was a STNA who was a former employee of Jenkins Care Community, where she loved taking care of the residents. She attended the Wellston Church of Christ. Wendy enjoyed dancing, listening to music and being with her friends. She was also known to take in stray animals and give them a loving home.
Wendy was such an independent, strong, free-spirited woman with a gypsy soul. She had an outlook on life that one wouldn’t believe and an infectious laugh that was so contagious you couldn’t be anything but happy when she was around. Her life wasn’t always easy, but everything she did was with a laugh or a smile. She taught everyone that all the really good things in life are far beyond the “No Trespassing” signs. She always encouraged everyone to spread their wings, and now she is finally free to spread her own. Her selflessness was an attribute to be admired. She will live on in everyone’s hearts, minds, thoughts, prayers and laughter forever.
Wendy is survived by her mother, Marilyn Elaine Fuller Bush of Miller, Oh.; daughter and son-in-law, Tashina and Josh Brown of Jackson; son, Wesley Doles of Hamden; granddaughter, Alivia Brown; brother, Christopher Nixon of McArthur; grandmother, Pauline Geer of Wellston; “life sisters”, Tracy Fraley, Roberta King and Patty Milliken; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, “life grandbabies” and many, many friends.
Wendy was preceded in death by her father, Wesley Roy Geer; sister, Leslie Geer; and grandparents, Pearl and Mildred Fuller and Merrill Geer.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. A Celebration of Life service will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. with Pastor Keith Fulton officiating.
