Sullivan Rye Tomblin

By | January 9, 2019

Sullivan Rye Tomblin was a gift, lent to us by a gracious God. He was born into our earthly realm on Jan. 5, 2017. Precisely two years later on Jan. 5, 2019, God summoned him back to his heavenly home to be born whole again, to live perfectly in eternal bliss.

In the brief time shared with us here on earth, Sullivan touched the hearts of countless strangers, inspiring them to connect with God through prayer. His humble spirit, boundless strength, infinite courage and of course, the sweetness of his smile inspired friends and family in ways we could never have imagined prior to his existence. Spiritual bonds and friendships – like the one we now share with Sullivan’s precious nurse, Monica – are rooted in selfless compassion and born from our treasured son’s life.

Sullivan’s everlasting love for adventure stirred a curiosity and desire for exploration in all of us. He encouraged us to look beyond our immediate surroundings and to experience new places and spaces in our world, all the while living in the beauty of the present moment. Sullivan’s genuine adoration and loving compassion for all animals awakened us to the magnificence of God’s creatures here on earth.

Our time with him was short, our loss is monumental and our suffering is immense. But our gift of a child had a divine calling here in our physical world and he filled our spirits with enough love to last us for lifetimes and beyond.

Our sweetest Sullivan, your kisses are the ocean breeze; everything is all right, when you’re with me.

Forever loved by his parents, William and Katie; brother, Maverick; sisters, Zaylie and Ellyse; aunts, Tabitha and Amanda; uncle, Michael; grandparents, Keith, Bill, Sally, Madonna, Bossy, and so many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, Jan. 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Sullivan Rye Tomblin, please visit our Sympathy Store.
