Steve Kibbey

Steve Kibbey, age 64, of Creola, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born June 13, 1953 in Hamden, Ohio to the late Robert Louis Kibbey and Mary Jane Forman Kibbey.

Steve was a 1971 graduate of Wellston High School. He was a proud truck driver who was formerly employed by C.W. Snyder Trucking in Jackson. Steve, one of the best auto body mechanics around, was also a former employee at Malone’s Body Shop in Jackson. Steve was a former volunteer fireman for the Hamden Fire Department and he was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Steve enjoyed riding motorcycles, shooting guns and was a great welder. He was a very spontaneous person who enjoyed traveling, as well as loving his cats and spending time with his grandchildren.

Steve is survived by his children, Rhonda Goheen (Thomas) of McArthur, Paul A. Rose Kibbey (Diana) of Creola and Carita S. Kibbey (Richard Henry) of Jackson; step-sons, Danny, Shawn and Bobby Mullins; sisters, Carolyn Sue Walker (Terry) of Mission, Texas and Regina McCoy (Ed) of Lancaster; along with seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his wives, Shirley A. Kibbey and Mahalia Mullins; step-son, Joe Mullins; and brother, Joe Kibbey.

In keeping with Steve’s wishes, his body was cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, Feb. 2, 2018 at 6 p.m. at the Vinton Chapel, 34001 Vinton Station Rd., McArthur, Ohio 45651. Pastor Dave Peoples will officiate.
