South Estill Swann

South Estill Swann, age 79, born June 3, 1934 to Julius Augusta Swann and Cosby Lee McGannahan Swann, went home to Jesus on Friday, February 14, 2014 at 3:50 a.m. at SOMC Hospital, surrounded by his children.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Janice Marie (Beckley) Swann; his four children, Debbie Gray, of Oak Hill, Cliff (Jeanie) Swann, of Burnaugh, Kentucky, Dorothy (Dave) Lambert, of Piketon, Rosie (Steve) Kaiser, of Commercial Point; grandchildren, Mendy (Wade) Burdine, Jamie Gray, Heather (Jerome) Locklear, Jennifer (Erik) Smith, Becky Stanhope, Betsy Stanhope, Jaylynn, Robby, Tristan, Kaiser and Zach Lambert. He is also survived by great grandchildren, Chase and Lane Burdine, Drew and Gage Locklear and Zoey Smith; two sisters, Goldie (Garland) Mooney, of Columbus and Phyliss (June) Evans, of Jackson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends who loved him dearly.

RJ Reynolds formerly employed him. He enjoyed coaching baseball, loved the Cincinnati Reds and he was a devoted Christian, who read the Bible daily.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, February 17, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Rev. Stan Howard officiating. Burial to follow in C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, February 16, from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
