Shannon Louise Cameron Brady

By | April 17, 2017

Shannon Louise Cameron Brady went to be with the Lord and her Savior on Friday, April 14, 2017 after a battle with cancer. Shannon was born Nov. 11, 1963 in Oak Hill, Ohio and was her older sister Debbie’s birthday present as they share the same birthday, only a year apart. Shannon’s parents are Donald Cameron, Samey Cameron, and Kay Cameron. Shannon was a life-long resident of Jackson County and well known for her strong work ethic when she was employed with Ginetta’s, Pillsbury, Main Express, and Bellisio’s.

Shannon is survived by her husband of 34 years, Robert “Bob” Brady, and it was love at first sight; her children: Tiffany, Felicia, and Bobby Lee; seven grandchildren: Samey, Sadie, Gracie, Sean, Bobbie Jo, Kenzie, and Baylee who she fondly called “Boo”; Shannon’s sisters: Donna (Skip) Goble of Circleville, Ohio, Debbie (David) Jones of Jackson, Ohio, and Lillian Cameron (Kevin Pennington) of Beaver, Ohio; step-sisters: DKay (Don) of Lakeland, Florida, Angie Buckalew of Cincinnati, Ohio; step-brothers, Bill and Carl (Cathy) Wheeler of Albany, Ohio; her mother-in-law, Sandy Henson and Mama Kay; sisters and brothers-in-law: Trudie (Rick) Brown, Melissa (Tom) Goheen, Angie (Jason) Kerr, Bo Jones, Sam (Rebekah) Brady, Mary Brady, Phillip (Amber) Brady, John (Amy) Brady, Mike (Michelle) Brady, Matt (Ladonya) Brady, Rhonda (Diane) Henson, Christi (Pete) Barr, and Charity Henson; and special friends: Kevin Verian, Sarah Wyatt, Karen Roe, and Shain Harris, her special son. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who were special to her and her Uncle Roy and Aunt Zenith Cameron.

Shannon was preceded in death by her father, Don Cameron; her mother, Samey Harmon Cameron; her grandparents, Helen and Hubert Cameron; fathers-in-law, Ron Henson and Robert Brady; nephew, Corey Pennington; and special friend, Myrtle Rasp.

Shannon will be remembered as always saying “slow down” on any one who was driving and usually would fight to drive as she did not trust others. She loved Bingo, poker, Nascar, and won when she played or did scratch offs. She loved yard sales and especially estate sales, but her greatest attribute which she probably received from her dad, Don, was that “she was always right”. She loved her grandchildren and was over-protective of them and was always asking “Where is Boo?” She was lovingly called Mrs. Benson because of this. Shannon’s life was over too soon for her friends and family but she will always be remembered and loved.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
