Saundra Kay McCarty, age 67, of Wellston, passed on to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, from the Edgewood Manor Nursing Facility in Wellston, Ohio. She was born Oct. 1, 1951 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Clayton Jordan and Thelma Sturgell Jordan.
Sandy was a 1969 graduate of Wellston High School. She was a loving homemaker, who enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Reds, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and she loved music in general. Sandy was a member of Fire Church, formerly Church on the Move.
She is survived by her sons, Kyle McCarty of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Jason McCarty of Wellston and Lucas McCarty of Wellston; sister, Gloria Perkins of Wellston; brothers, Greg Jordan of Portsmouth and Jeff Jordan of Jackson; along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave McCarty; and her sister, Karen Steel.
In keeping with Sandy’s wishes, her body was cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, April 25, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Fire Church with Pastor David Collins officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions in Sandy’s name be given to Fire Church, 901 South Railroad Avenue, Wellston, Ohio 45692.
