Rodger C. “Tug” Hensley, born to Clifford Hensley and Helen Arlene (Collins) Hensley on May 8, 1942, passed peacefully from this world on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Velda Lou Jordan.

Rodger was loved by many family members, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was also loved by those not blood-related but family of the heart and many special friends, and of course, Bambi, his fur baby.

Rodger was a member of the Amvets Post 84 in Jackson. Rodger lived a full life. He was a merchant marine and traveled the world. He was a business owner and worked in the manufactured housing industry. Rodger never hesitated to help those in need, reaching out to help others without hesitation. In honor of his giving attitude and in lieu of flowers, please give a donation to “St. Jude Children’s Hospital”; this was Rodger’s favorite charity or you may donate to the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
