Robert Samuel Baer, 83, of Jackson, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at his residence. He was born on June 19, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, son of the late Clark and Lula (Barnwell) Baer. Robert and his family have lived in this area for more than 30 years, and were very well known. When able, he attended Freedom Baptist Church and volunteered with Heartland Hospice.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Baer of McArthur; and sister-in-law, Marlene Baer of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie in 2011; as well as brothers, Garland, Maylan, and Nelson.
A memorial service celebrating Robert’s life will be held at R. M. Williams Funeral Service in Wellston, on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. Inurnment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, Wellston. A memorial gathering will precede the service on Tuesday commencing at 11 a.m.
