Robert D. Steele

Robert D. Steele, 90, of Coldwater, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Community Health Center of Branch County.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Free Methodist Church in Coldwater. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater, Michigan (ph. 517-278-2795).

Robert was born December 8, 1921 in Jackson, Ohio to Haslett and Ollie (Waller) Steele. He married Peggy Jean Buckley on September 26, 1948 in Jackson, Ohio.

Bob served proudly in the U.S. Marines in WW II. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Coldwater. Bob had worked as a Food Inspector for over 30 years for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and worked with City Athletics at the Recreation Department with fifth- and sixth-grade basketball and flag football for many years. He was an avid Ohio State football fan and thoroughly enjoyed hunting and golf.

He is survived by his wife Peggy, son Craig (Althea) Steele of Coldwater, daughter Debbie (Jamie) Stuart of Shelby Twp., MI and granddaughter Carrie Steele of Coldwater.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
