Richard Max Henry

Richard Max Henry, age 84, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2018 at his home. He was born April 6, 1934 in Jackson to the late Omar R. and Lottie (Myers) Henry.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marjorie (Mitzel) Henry, of Jackson; daughter, E. Marie Henry, of Houston TX; son, Michael R. (Jois) Henry, of Columbus; daughter, Marcia C. Lewis, of Chillicothe and son, Mark A. Henry, of Loudonville, Ohio. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Eleanor Walke, Edmond Henry, Fred Henry, Kenneth Henry and Ruth Henry.

Max graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. He then worked at Mead Paper Company, the family business, Henry’s Grocery Company, and Randall R. Adams C.P.A. Inc. until his passing. He enjoyed skiing, golfing, wood working and gatherings with family and friends. He always got people to smile with his dry sense of humor.

At his request there will be no public calling hours. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 150 Portsmouth St., Jackson, Ohio 45640.
