Richard J. Miller, age 82, of Wellston, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born March 16, 1930 in Barboursville, W. Va., the son of the late John and Gladys Conger Miller.

Dick was a 1948 graduate of Wellston High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War. He retired from RCA in Circleville, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic. Dick attended the Church of God in Wellston and he enjoyed the outdoors.

He is survived by his son, Jerl Miller of Wellston; grandchildren, Ashley Lambert of Wellston and Isaiah Miller of Jackson; great-grandchildren, Keegen and Reed Lambert, and his long-time companion, Hazel Ghearing of Wellston.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Miller in 1993.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Benson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post #371 of Wellston.
