Randy “Bullet” Poland, Jr.

Randall “Randy” “Bullet” L. Poland, Jr. 48, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away at 11:38 on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Holzer Medical Center, Jackson, Emergency Department, Jackson, Ohio. Born Feb. 14, 1969 in Cambridge, Ohio, he was the son of Randall L. Poland, Sr., of Nevada, and Cathy I. Stephens (Larry) Barcus Russell, of Gallipolis. He was a coal miner for Massey Energy.

Bullet was a U.S. Marine Veteran of Operation Desert Storm; a lifetime member of the McArthur Veteran of Foreign Wars Post #5299 where he served as member of the Honor Guard, and also a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #45 of Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Gina Thacker Poland, whom he married on Dec. 3, 1999 in Mercerville; a son, Joseph Bush and a daughter, Emily (Josh) Coleman, both of Wellston; grandchildren, Landon Bush, Kaylen Bush, Kendra Coleman, Jenna Coleman, and Chase Coleman; brothers, Robert (Christina) Poland, of Kingsman, Arizona, Allen (Crystal) Barcus, of Jacksonville, Fl., and Justin Poland, of Cambridge, Oh.; sisters, Donna Poland, of Kingman, Az., and Lisa (Kenny) Oliver, of Greensburg, In.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Ralph Barcus, and step-sister, Renauta Michelle Barcus.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 in the Cremeens-King Funeral Home, Gallipolis. Pastor Jamie Fortner will officiate and interment with full military honors provided by the Gallipolis Funeral Detail Team will follow in the Flag Springs Cemetery.
