Norma Ruth Adams

Norma Ruth Adams, born July 10, 1925, in Mingo Junction, Ohio, to the late John and Mayme Collins, passed away October 8, 2019, at the Jenkins Care Community in Wellston, Ohio.

Norma spent most of her life as a resident of Wellston and Jackson, Ohio, save for a few years during World War II when she moved to Washington DC along with three female cousins to contribute to the war effort stateside.

Upon her return to Ohio she met her future husband, Theodore (Ted) Adams, who preceded her in death in July, 2018. Together for almost seventy years, they reared three children, all of whom survive: Suette C. Adams of Athens, Ohio; April (Herb) Owrey of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; and Scott Adams (Paulette Miller) of Wellston, Ohio.  She leaves behind two grandchildren and their families: Ryan (Sarah) Owrey and their children Hudson and Harper of Raleigh, North Carolina; Megan Garner and her children Macie and Maddox of Rural Hall, North Carolina. Also surviving are four step-grandchildren and their families: Forrest Hale of Wellston, Ohio; Kelsy (Andy) Simpson of Jackson, Ohio; Courtney Brill and her son Nick of Beaver, Ohio; Kristyn (Philip Bapst) and daughter Mia of Beaver, Ohio. As well her former daughter-in-law Suzette Miller Adams of Beaver, Ohio, survives.

Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her beloved brother, Jack L. Collins.  His wife Judy Fields Collins and their children and families: JC (Lynn), Jerry, and Jana (Jeremy) Carruth all of the Chillicothe area all survive.

  A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, October 16, 2019, at 7 P.M., at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston with Father David Young officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
