Nola “Edith” Jenkins

Nola “Edith” Jenkins, age 88, of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017 at her residence. She was born on Dec. 18, 1928 in Salt Rock, West Virginia to James A. Queen and Nancy Duty Queen.

Edith was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Hobbies she enjoyed were genealogy, crocheting, sewing, gardening, cooking, mushroom hunting and spending time with family.

She was preceded in death by parents, James A. Queen and Nancy Duty Queen; husband, Charles E. Jenkins and son, Jay Jenkins. She was the last of 19 brothers and sisters to pass.

Edith is survived by sons, Danny and Kenny Jenkins; daughter-in-law, Kathy Jenkins; grandchildren: Melanie, Paula, Scott, Jennifer, Mindy, Rebecca, Thomas, Kristina, Cassie, Crystal, Adrian and T.J.; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church in Jackson. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
