Michael Dale Rouse, age 63, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at the Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. He was born December 1, 1952 in Akron, Ohio to the late August Eugene and Mary Jane McGowan Rouse. He was a devoted husband, father and pappaw, great-grandpa who loved to spend time with his family and friends. He officiated basketball for over 30 years and officiated volleyball for 25 years and was proud to have officiated eight volleyball state tournaments.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Stella Sellers Rouse; children: Nikki Johnston, Jennifer (Gary) Whetstone, Penny (Tony) Burnette and Michael (Brandae) Rouse; brothers: Ronald, August Eugene and Timothy Rouse; sisters: Brenda Scarbrough and Barb Hensley; grandchildren: Michael, Randy Ellen, Anna Jade, Cody, Ryan Jr., Hannah, Emily, Andrew, Kylar and Troy; and great-grandchildren: Kendalynn, Isabella and Lynex. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Braydon and granddaughter, Chelsae Sue.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 10, 2016 at the funeral home and again on Monday two hours prior to the services. Condolences can be emailed to www.mayhew-brownfuneralhome.com
