Melody “Gail” Wright

Melody “Gail” Wright, age 62, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Ohio State Hospital after a short battle with cancer. She was born June 25, 1956 in Wellston, Ohio to the late James Carpenter, Sr. and Barbara (Browning) Carpenter.

 She is survived by her spouse of many years, Steve Fowler; daughters: Melissa (Dennis), Tammy (Larry), and Jaime (Richard), and Sidney; sons: Adam (Christina), Mark, Kyle, and Robert; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ruthann Dingus, Joyce Dingus, Rosetta Evans, Sarah Krischack, and Amy Elkins; brother, James Carpenter; great-nephew, Triston Landrum who called her “Granny Gail”; as well as several other nieces and nephews.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jonathon Wright.

 Gail worked at Buckeye Community Services for the last 19 years. She enjoyed family and had a hand in raising her grandchildren. She had a loving heart and helped anyone she could. She will be truly missed by everyone.

 Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Dennison Chapel Cemetery in Mount Sterling, Ohio.
